The Braveheart:Ajay Lohar

In a daring rescue attempt, a 10-year-old boy saved another older boy from drowning in the Swaroop Sagar Lake in Udaipur. The incident occurred today afternoon while a group of young boys were playing near the lake side.

While playing with his friends, Rajesh Lohar(12) accidently fell into the lake; not knowing how to swim, he therefore started drowning. Seeing his friend in trouble, Ajay Lohar (10) immediately jumped into the water and grabbed the drowning Rajesh and tried to pulling him up by his hair.

While rescuing, Ajay lost the grip over him, finding it tough to sustain Rajesh’s body weight, nevertheless the brave boy didn’t lose his confidence; he quickly pulled back his friend and successfully reached the shore.

Few bystanders helped the boys feel calm as both were very scared and distressed. Rajesh and Ajay are friends and stayed at hutments near Swaroop Sagar Lake.
