Udaipur, December 26, 2024 - The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has appointed Dr Ajit Kumar Karnataka, Vice-Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, to the core National Agricultural Education Committee tasked with preparing a common curriculum and study list for various agricultural and allied subjects in diploma and certificate programmes. This will be for standalone institutions as well as agricultural universities.

The committee is aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP-2020) and the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and expected to submit its report to ICAR within two months.

It may be noted that under Dr Karnataka's leadership, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology took a leading role in implementing NEP 2020 at MPUAT as soon as it received the curriculum prepared by the Sixth Dean's Committee of ICAR earlier this year.

Additionally, Dr Karnataka was previously appointed by the Governor to the State Committee responsible for preparing guidelines for implementing the provisions of NEP in all State-funded universities in Rajasthan.
