Arefa Tehsin’s book, The Elephant Bird has been chosen for Pratham Books’ annual reading campaign ‘One Day, One Story’. This is the 5th year that the campaign is running and last year they had 2500+ organisations and volunteers join them from across the countries.
The idea behind the Pratham campaign : The idea is to encourage children to fall in love with reading. This initiative is part of the Pratham Books’ Champions program where they encourage their community of volunteers to use one book to conduct reading sessions. These sessions are conducted free of cost and mostly with children from under-served communities.
They celebrate the joy of reading around International Literacy Day (8th September). This year’s event is scheduled for 10th September, 2016.

Arefa Tehsin expressed her satisfaction saying that “It is great that The Elephant Bird (which has already been translated in 6-8 languages) will be reaching thousands and thousands of children across the 24 states of India and the globe on 10th of September“.
