Azimuddin Khan received Ph.D in Business Intelligence, in Banking

Mohan Lal Sukhadia University (MLSU) has awarded Doctoral Degree to Azimuddin Khan for his work on “Implementation of Business Intelligence Solutions in Selected banks of Rajasthan: A Critical Study.” Khan completed his work under the guidance of Prof. Karunesh Saxena, Faculty of Management Studies, MLSU, Udaipur.

Khan completed his work under the guidance of Prof. Karunesh Saxena, Faculty of Management Studies, MLSU, Udaipur.

In research it is found that Banks which have implemented the Complete Business Intelligence (BI) Solutions in their banks are having edge over the other which does not have. The survey of twenty five banks had been made including leading public sector, private bank and foreign banks.

Banks can use BI to get Asset and Liability Management analytics, Customer Profitability Analytics, Campaign Analysis, Channel Efficiency & Prioritization analytics, Cross Sell analysis, Product profitability, Customer Attrition & Retention analysis. Customer Segmentation, Credit Risk Analysis, Fraud Prevention & Detection analysis, Financial Analytics, Operational Analytics and Fair Banking Practices analysis. Business Intelligence Solution also helps in getting Key Performance Indicators (KPI) at strategic, tactical and Operational level.

Study found that private and foreign banks are well ahead of high utilization business intelligence (83.3%) at strategic level, while only 25% public sector banks are using BI at strategic level.

BI can enhance business value by better access to data, more informed and better decision making, competitive advantage, single version of truth, time savings, cost saving, Increase revenues, Better customer services, Better employee satisfaction, and single view of customer.

Research also includes the suggestion to banks in general, specific to public and private sector banks, to solution provider and NASSCOM to improve the BI implementation practices.
