Dr. Kayamkhani’s efforts pay off when a barren land dances with life bringing his dream of 10 years come true.

A 4 bigha barren land has started dancing with life. 59 year old Geography Professor Ishaq Kayamkhani made all possible efforts to give life to a barren land. There are thousands of trees and plants now on this land where even grass did not seem a possibility. Not just this land which is behind the administrative office of Sukhadia University, but also various parts of the city are witnessing around 30000 trees planted by Dr. Kayamkhani.

The land behind Sukhadia University used to be so dry that no one wished to go there. But with Dr. Kayamkhani’s efforts people now love to spend time here. The place seems peaceful and greenery adds to the look and feel. It will be made open to public after a week or so.

Dr. Kayamkhani made plant ponds, plant beds and steps etc. with his own hands to convert this land into a place full of trees. He spends 4 hours daily in the garden and devotes his time like any other gardener. As per him, he has spent more than 25 lakhs on the beautification of this land. Every year he spends around 3 lakhs on the maintenance of this area.

The place has more than 150 varieties of fauna and flora. 10 years back, when Dr. Kayamkhani saw people yearning for shade he decided to convert this area into a green land. His efforts of 10 years paid off. Now with 150 varieties of fauna and flora, the garden will be made open for the university students and also to the public.

Dr. Kayamkhani has plans of planting trees in the entire city from next month onwards. People are coming forward to support him. Even UIT takes Dr. Kayamkhani’s advice before going ahead with any plantation project in the city.
