Subsequent to the test-fire of the land version of BrahMos in the Bay of Bengal by the Indian Navy on Friday 21 April, the Indian army on Tuesday completed a successful test-fire of the advanced version of the BrahMos land attack cruise missile.

Having conducted the test-fire of the cruise missile in the Andaman and Nicobar islands, a senior official of the Army said that the exercise involved a high level of complex maneuvering; however the missile hit the target on land with the desired precision.

He further said that the test firing demonstrated the block III version weapon’s precision lethality of hitting a designated target within “top attack configuration”, which basically means meeting all flight parameters in a copybook manner.

The Military had showcased BrahMos, considered the only supersonic missile in the world, at the Republic Day parade earlier this year.  This weapon is a joint India-Russia developed unit.
