Cops kill 1 dacoit, while 2 fled away in Midnight Encounter

One suspected highway dacoit was killed by police while two of his associates fled away in a face-to-face encounter between police team and criminals that took place at Sanwariya Dhaba, Dabok after midnight of 12 Sept. Two policemen also received injuries and are admitted in GBH American hospital.

Two policemen also received injuries and are admitted in Geetanjali hospital.

According to police sources, at 12:45 last night, Kaluram Rawat, Additional S. P. (Police Headquarters), received information about three suspicious people sitting in a room located behind Sanwariya Dhaba and having liquor. Rawat instructed Dabok Police to move ahead and check the place.

In an official statement released by authority, the incident took place when police reached the dhaba, the place was deserted and a man sitting there ran away immediately seeing police.

Police team, led by SHO Rajesh Sharma, raided the dhaba and the room behind it. The room was locked from inside and there was no reply even after several knockings on the door.

One of the police constables leaned inside the room from gateway and noticed three men trying to break the wall facing towards farms.

Police team forcedly opened the door, but suddenly the suspects opened fire on police and tried to run away.

In retaliation, police fired several rounds in which one criminal identified as Arvind Meena (26) fell injured, while the other two ran away in farms. The firing series also left two policemen injured.

Police Constable Mahendra received a bullet wound on his shoulder, while head constable Lachhiram was injured in his forearm.

According to police, Meena hid in bushes, but was later found by police, he received injuries in lower back and died on the way to the hospital.

Meena was a habitual criminal and was accompanied there by another wanted criminal Raju alias Rajia, while the third person is still unidentified.

One mobile phone, a pistol and one Tavera car (RJ-27-TA-2050) are confiscated from the spot.

Body of Arvind is handed over to his father after conducting postmortem. Police has launched massive search to grab rest of the two accused.

According to sources, Police alleged that the trio were involved in highway loot and probably also involved in a loot carried out few days back in Rishabhdev.
