July 1, 2025 - Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, widely known as "Captain Cool", is now taking steps to officially trademark the nickname. The title, given to him by fans for his calm demeanor under pressure, may soon become his exclusive legal property.

According to reports, Dhoni has filed an application to trademark the term. If approved, no individual or organisation will be allowed to use the phrase "Captain Cool" for commercial purposes without his permission.

As per sources, the former skipper submitted the application online through the Trademark Registry Portal on June 5. Dhoni is seeking exclusive rights to use "Captain Cool" for training centres and coaching services.
