In a 2 Day seminar organized by the Bhartiya Sanskriti Sansad, Kolkata, Dr. Mahendra Bhanawat and Dr. Shri Krishna Jugnu were honored for their research and papers in the field of Folk Culture in Rajasthan.
During the seminar, Dr. Bhanawat stated that the number of dances and dramas that have been developed and founded in Rajasthan are more than anywhere in the entire world. He said that in his research work, he has found there to be 155 different forms of drama found which have been practiced in Rajasthan.
Unfortunately, a lot of these art forms, which were endemic to the state of Rajasthan, have now become extinct or are being led to the brink of extinction.
The Sansad also felicitated Manak Arya of Udaipur for his research work.
Dr. Bhanawat, Dr. Jugnu and Manak Arya were honored with a memento by Vithaldaas Mundra, Director of the Bhartiya Sanskriti.
