Dr. Hemendra Chandalia has been awarded Gold Medal for Master of Journalism and Mass Communication at a recently held convocation ceremony at Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University Kota.

Professor in English, Dr. Chandalia is working at Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University. He has been serving at Central University of Haryana for last two years where he served as Dean and Officiating Vice Chancellor also. Throughout his career, Dr. Chandalia has worked with several reputed educational institutes and organizations.He has published ten books and more than thirty research articles besides numerous popular articles in Hindi and English press.

He did his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Udaipur and graduated from MLSU. Dr. Chandalia continued his higher education from Central Institute for English and Foreign Languages, Hyderabad. He completed his PhD, bachelor and later Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication.

When asked what is the simple way of success, Dr. Chandalia replied, “Hard work,sincerity and dedication is the only mantra for success. Think high and strive whole-heartedly for it.”

While expressing his thoughts on the present scenario of Indian Media in this digital age, he said, Indian media is technically at par with the world media but is gradually losing its touch with the masses and their concerns. The Corporates seem to have high jacked the prime time. An alternative media is also there which needs to be strengthened by young and idealistic youth of the present generation.
