Dr. Kothari Bags Smart Investor Award
In a cut-throat final of Anand Rathi, Zee Business India’s Smart Investor Season-2, Udaipur’s Dr. Anil Kothari came out on top with a magnificent presentation which was telecasted LIVE on Zee Business Channel on 18 May 2012.

Being the only participant representing Rajasthan, Dr. Kothari has won the famed reality show based on investment. Kothari was awarded a Chevrolet Beat as well as an air conditioner by Carrier.
Moving ahead through five rounds consisted of a questionnaire, a trading round, a city round, a case solving and a final technical round. During the course of the show, Dr. Kothari had also received over 25000 votes by his followers from across India.
The reality show began with 50 competitors from 10 cities; Dr. Kothari was one of the 5 finalists selected for the last round. He stood first while Dhawal Sheth from Ahmadabad bagged and Nikhil Baljekar from Bangalore 2nd position on 3rd positions respectively.
Dr. Anil Kothari holds a PhD, an M.B.A and an M.A in Economics and is currently an assistant professor at Faculty of Management Studies, Mohanlal Sukhadia University (FMS, MLSU).
“I had always followed Zee Business to keep myself updated with latest market transformation. One day, I saw commercial about India’s Smart Investor and thought of applying for it. They asked me one question which was to be answered by SMS and after answering it, I was selected for the show,” said Dr. Kothari.
Explaining further, he told UT “I was asked to come to Jaipur for the audition after which I was shortlisted for further rounds. As I had registered from Jaipur, they officially announced that I hailed from Jaipur though I belong to Udaipur.”
At FMS, MLSU, Dr. Kothari teaches management in Investment, Portfolio, Mutual Fund and Economics. He also loves to read books which revolve around investment.
“We always try to consult the best doctor for any health issue but we hardly search for best financial planner for solving our monetary issues. I suggest everyone to consult a financial planner who can offer you the best guidance in this field,” he said.
