Eminent Personalities Honored by Maharana Mewar Foundation
The illustrious and eminent Awards of the land of Mewar, Maharana Mewar Foundation Awards were bestowed to eminent personalities from international, national and state level and meritorious students from the region in the 31st Maharana Mewar Foundation Award Ceremony on Sunday, 26th Feb. at the Manak Chowk located in the City Palace compound by the main trustee and the Chairman of the Foundation, Shreeji Arvind Singh ji Mewar.
The illustrious and eminent Awards of the land of Mewar, Maharana Mewar Foundation Awards were bestowed to eminent personalities from international, national and state level and meritorious students from the region in the 31st Maharana Mewar Foundation Award Ceremony on Sunday, 26th Feb. at the Manak Chowk located in the City Palace compound by the main trustee and the Chairman of the Foundation, Shreeji Arvind Singh ji Mewar.
In the International and National Category Colonel James Todd Honor was presented to Dr. Andrew Tomsfield, Hakim Khan Sur Award to film actor Rahul Bose, Haldighati Award was given to Harinder Bawecha from Today Headlines and Dr. Gulab Kothari, the Chief Editor of Rajasthan Patrika, Maharana Uday Singh Award to Dr. Parth Sarthi Roy from ISRO and Pannadhay Award to Dr. Prakash and Dr. Mandakini Amte.
The selected people of Rajasthan were honored with special foundation awards viz. Maharana Mewar Award which was presented to Aruna Singhania and Dr. Kirti Jain, Maharishi Harit Rashi Samman was given to Pt. Ramesh Bhojraj Diwedi and Dr. Veernarayan N.K. Pandurangi, Maharana Kumbha Samman was bestowed to Rajendra Shanker Bhatt and Dr. Nanad Kishore Acharya , Maharana Sajjan Singh Samman was imparted to Gopal Saini, Dagar Garana Samman was presented to Chiranjeelal Tanwar and K.C.Maloo, Rana Punja Samman was given to Mashroo Lal Kher and Aravali Samman went to Deepa Malik and Ashok Menaria.
Moving on the Bhamashah Award, Maharana Raj Singh Award and Maharana Fateh Singh Award were given to the talented students from the district and state for their exceptional performance in scholastic and co-scholastic activities. Total 43 students were honored by Bhamashah Award for the academic year 2010 and 2011, 5 students each for the year 2010 and 2011 were presented Maharana Raj Singh Award and 59 students received Maharana Fateh Singh Award at the award ceremony for the year 2010 and 2011.
In his address to the august gathering Shreeji Arvind Singh ji Mewar said, “The thought of Democracy is not older than 100 years in the world but this concept took birth in Mewar region hundreds of years ago and it is because of these values all the rulers had worked as the servants of the public. In present times Udaipur has not only earned name and fame for tourism but also for its environment, values and ideals of life and the contribution of Maharana Mewar Foundation cannot be denied in achieving all this.”
The award ceremony was presided over by National Poet Balkavi Bairagi who conveyed his best wishes to all the awardees and praised the works carried out by the Foundation at the global level.
When Deepa Malik recipient of Aravali Samman narrated that how she could overpower her physical disability with positive thought, willingness and strong determination and support of her father, everybody present in the function started weeping and paid her standing applause for her courage. She is known as Dare Devil of Jaipur.
Rahul Bose, Harinder Bawecha, Dr. Andrew Tomsfield and Dr. Gulab Kothari also expressed their gratitude to the Foundation and said that they were feeling highly honored for the awards presented to them.
The Foundation Trustee, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar in his valedictory address urged the youth to identify their goals and then make efforts to accomplish those goals. Before this Pt. Narendra Mishra, the Spokesman of the Foundation threw light on the achievements of the Foundation and also recited a poem related to Mewar.
The programme ended with the National Anthem and Gopal Soni and Rupa Chakravarti were the masters of the ceremony.
