Freedom Fighter Chatar Singh cremated with State Honor

Actively participated in the nationwide protest against Brtishers, freedom fighter Chatar Singh Singatwadia died today at his house in Udaipur, he was 86. The procession and last rites were attended by hundreds of people.

Actively participated in the nationwide protest against Brtishers, freedom fighter Chatar Singh Singatwadia died today at his house in Udaipur, he was 86. The procession and last rites were attended by hundreds of people.

Representing state government, Additional District Magistrate, Mohammad Yaseen Pathan offered flowers on the corpse. Police Jawans gave guard honor while the last rite custom was done by Kailash, eldest son of Chatar Singh.

Chatar Singh Singatwadia was born on 4 Dec 1927 in Udaipur. He took part in the freedom struggle with other prominent activists including Manikyalal Verma, Mohanlal Sukhadia, Heeralal Kothari, Kanak Madhukar, Balwant Singh Mehta, Bhurelal Baya etc.

Chatar Singh was also honored by district collector on the occasion of Republic Day in 2009.

Chatar Singh is survived by his wife, sons and daughters.
