First TEDX Youth@HGS at Heritage Girls School, Udaipur was organised on 4th November.

Theme of the day was Singularity, which apart from its actual meaning of being one of a kind, remarkable, unique or unusual, can have other perceptions as well. Singularity, is when all that has changed in the last million years, will be superseded by the change in the next five minutes.

Organised by the Heritage Girls School at Eklingji, Udaipur, the event had a variety of speakers, from a range of experiences and amazingly from a very young age group.

Gaurvi Singhvi, the mermaid from Udaipur, who holds multiple records in swimming the high seas, was among the youngest of the speakers, with Ishita Shah, the 14 year old athlete from Heritage Girls School.

The speakers at the maiden TEDx Youth included Dr. A Velumani, a scientist and entrepreneur. Dr Velumani is the Managing Director of Nueclear Healthcare Ltd, a radiology vertical. He has succeeded in converting educated to employed, graduates to professionals and individuals to entrepreneurs in his unique way – being an infectious motivator and transforming problems into opportunities.

Gaurvi Singhvi, the 14 yr old student of Delhi Public School, Udaipur, transformed passion into performance by setting 2 new open sea swimming records earlier this year becoming the first girl to swim from Governor House to Gateway of India, Mumbai in just under 4 hours and also set a record for swimming 37km from the sea link to gateway of India in record time. A district and state swimming champion, Gaurvi aims to cross the English Channel soon.

Ishita Shah, the 14 year old writer from Heritage Girls School, transforms her quite nature as a private person, to being an extremely vocal debator. Ishita is a unique contrast of being an athlete while at the same time a student of human nature.

Pratish R Nair, a Life Coach by profession, transformed the platform with his wit, scientific knowledge and deep insight. He lends this unique approach and knowledge mix to his programs and has redefined Corporate training. He has been a story teller, credited with a several creative plays and short movies, as a writer, director as well as producer.

Shankar Srinivasan was the other speaker at the event – an entrepreneur who found his passion in solving real life problems. Beginning his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 21, Shankar saw his first venture being bought over by Pearson, after which he founded Inclov, the worlds first match making app focusing on people with disabilities and health disorders. He now aims to take his $3 Million company to global markets.
