The last rites of General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat will be conducted in a while at New Delhi. Top brass from theArmed Forces, including the Chiefs of Navy, Army and Air Force in addition to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will be in attendance during the last rites of the General. Mliitary Commanders of Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh will be attending the last rites of India's First Chief of Defence Staff. The destination of the funeral procession is Brar Square in New Delhi.
Earlier during the day, the 3 services chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces, viz. Admiral R Hari Kumar - Chief of Naval Staff; General MM Narwane - Chief of Army and Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari - Chief of Air Force paid their last respects to the late Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat and the other 11 Armed Forces Personnel who lost their lives in the freak helicopter crash off Ooty in Tamil Nadu on 8 December 2021.
