Dr. Abbas Alvi, medical doctor by profession and iconic figure among Dawoodi Bohra Community passed away at age of 58 years on 7th June 2012, due to Heart Attack. Dr. Alvi was a highly respected person of the community for his profound knowledge of Islam. As a part of a social activity, he delivered sermons and lectures in various cities of India, UK, Middle East and Africa.
Bansi Lal Shah, one among the earliest and most renounced Senior Charted Accountant and a freedom fighter left common world on 12th July 2012, due to Kidney failure. Hailing basically from Dungarpur, Bansi Lal Shah came to Udaipur for establishing his CA profession and lived here ever after.
The 39 years old Tarun Gupta, BSF Officer was missing since 26th July 2012 along with a Sepoy Uday Kumar. They were swept in flooded river in Rajouri District. His body recovered in a combined search operation of National Disaster Relief Force and BSF. Deputy Commandant’s funeral ceremony was carried took at Jammu & Kashmir.
Indu Dave, retired professor of education at G.S Training College passed away at age of 92 year on 14th August 2012. She was one of the most proficient women of Indian prospect and received a U.S Fulbright Scholarship in 1957 for her higher education and Doctrate at the University of Michigan. She returned in 1960 but was again invited as full-time permanent Visiting Faculty at University of California, Los Angeles in 1961.
P.N Choyal, great artist responsible for placing Udaipur on the world map in field of art died at an age of 88 year on 1st September 2012. In his illustrious work, he achieved several awards and honors, a few among them were National Award by Lalit Kala Academy in 1988 which he won 6 times in his life time, in 2007 was honored with ‘Kala Ratna’ by Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi.
Rizwan Zaheer Usman, a Theater Artist passed away at age of 65 years due to prolonged Kidney Ailment on 3rd November 2012. Zaheer Usman was honored with Lifetime Achievement Award from Rajasthan Sangeet Natya Academy. He authored more than 100 stories and 150 dramas and gave his valuable contribution in Art, Literature, Storytelling and Drama.
