Independence Day Celebration in Udaipur
Amid slight rain showers, 65th Independence Day of India was celebrated with utmost zeal and fervor. Udaipur’s Gandhi Ground had witnessed its largest celebration in city today.

The flag was hoisted by Mahendrajeet Singh Malwiya – Tribal Area Development minister, followed by march-past and parade ceremonies. After that, selected individuals were honored for their significant role in respected fields of expertise.
The program ended with various cultural events performed by school students.
B.R Bhati additional district collector (administration) delivered the speech in the name of Hon. Governor of State.
While addressing the crowd, Tribal Development Minister congratulated the people of Mewar for completion of Dewas Project and starting of IIM in Udaipur.
Remembering the freedom fighters of India, Malwiya also gave his tribute to Lt. Archit Verdia who died a month back in Siachen border.
31 influential people of Udaipur including students, sports personalities, media personnel, government officers and social workers have been honored for their remarkable work in respected fields. Cadets of NCC were also given prizes for best performance in parade.
In the direction of Parade Commander R.I Bhanvarsingh, Police home guards, forest guards, NCC cadets, scouts and guides and Police band marched in a much disciplinary way. Especially the groups of armed police force highly attracted the audience.
More than 1000 students jointly performed physical exercises; students from School for Deaf and Dumb were the main attraction of program, their team work and enthusiasm was definitely worth praising.
Freedom fighter Manoharlal Audichya, MP – Raghuveer Singh Meena, City Chief- Madhu Mehta, Municipal Commisioner – Rajni Dangi, Congress politician- Neelima Sukhadia, Social worker – Kailash Manav, Dilip Sukhadia, military officers of army, navy and air force, Jitendra Upadhyay, I.G – Govind Gupta, S.P – Alok Vashisht, AD SP – M.L Chohan and other prominent people were present.
The program was conducted by Parvati Kotia, Rajendra Sen and Jitendra Verma.
