Irrfan Khan, one of India's most versatile actors, passed away today morning after battling prolonged Colon cancer.

Irrfan Khan lost his mother on Saturday, 25 April. He was unwell and in Mumbai, and due to the lockdown could not attend the last rites of his mother.  Soon after he was admitted to hospital on Tuesday.

He was last seen in Angrezi Medium which was shot largely in Udaipur. The film released a few days before the lockdown and though it never went to theaters, it was later released on the OTT platform.

"I trust I have surrendered." These were the many words resonate in his messages when he was battling with a rare form of Cancer. He parted with "As if it was tasting Life for the first time - The Magical Side of It".

Irrfan Khan had been a man of few words and his expressive emotions did much of the talking, both on and off screen.  Being a versatile actor, his off screen persona was no less intimidating. A strong soul, he fought his illness bravely till the very end.  His fight with cancer began a couple of years back, and when he had recovered once, he came back to complete his partially completed film, Angrezi Medium.  He was not seen in the promos of the film and neither was he there on the first screening as he was keeping unwell.

He will be remembered as a humble soul and will be known to the world through his on screen presence in Lunchbox, Paan Singh Tomar, Angrezi Medium, Maqbool, Piku, Slumdog Millionaire, Spiderman, Inferno, Life of Pi, the list goes on.
