Bringing laurels to Rajasthan, Kelva’s (Rajsamand) swimmer Jagdish Teli won two gold and two silver medals in the 15th National Para Swimming Championship in Belgaum from 27th to 29th November, making his way for the international feat.

The championship was organized by Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) and Paralympic Swimming Federation of India (Paraswim) with Para Swimming Association Karnataka in which more than 450 swimmers from across India had participated. Jagdish took part in four competitions where he won 2 gold and 2 silver medals.

Jagdish’s coach Mahesh Paliwal and Leena Sharma informed that this is a big achievement not only for Rajsamand but for Udaipur also for someone who comes from a remote village called Bhadwa ka Seja of Kelva. In all his national competitions, he has won 41 medals so far and aims to participate in the Commonwealth Games 2018 and cross the English Channel.

Last year, Jagdish lost gold medal at the National Para Olympic and worked hard an entire year at Udaipur’s Khelgaon swimming pool. His family members, well wishers and other players congratulated him for his achievement.
