Udaipur, December 24, 2024 - Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (60) has denied reports of a luxurious over-Rs 5,000-crore wedding this week even though the media has been rife with the news this past week. Reports had said that the billionaire was set to marry girlfriend Lauren Sanchez (55) on December 28 in a luxurious over-Rs 5,000-crore wedding at Kevin Costner’s Dunbar Ranch in Aspen, Colorado.

Bezos has denied the report calling it false. This came after his business rival Elon Musk playfully called on him to go all out on having an extravagant wedding.

According to reports, Musk is believed to have said: "I hope you do hold an epic wedding. It’s nice to know that epic events are happening somewhere, even if one is not present.”

Bezos, in response, retorted to this comment saying that the entire narrative was fabricated, that “None of this is happening.”

Bezos took to X to clarify, “Furthermore, this whole thing is completely false – none of this is happening. The old adage, ‘don’t believe everything you read’ is even more true today than it ever has been. Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on. So be careful out there folks and don’t be gullible. Will be interesting to see if all the outlets that ‘covered’ and re-reported on this issue a correction when it comes and goes and doesn’t happen.

So, Bezos has put all speculations on his wedding to rest. The past few days the gossip vine had been all over with details of the wedding. Reports had said the event will be a highly customised and luxurious affair. The pre-wedding celebrations will be held on December 26 and 27 at Aspen’s upscale Matsuhisa sushi restaurant with an elite guest list of 180 people. The guest list include Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, and Queen Rania of Jordan.

Bezos started dating Sanchez in 2018. The relationship was made public only in 2019 after Bezos’ divorce from his first wife MacKenze Scott with whom he shares three kids.

Sanchez is a former broadcast journalist who has worked as an entertainment reporter and news anchor. She is also a pilot and the founder of Black Ops Aviation, the first female-owned aerial film and production company.
