Through the Surya Uday Campaign, Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar has entered the Guinness World Records for the ninth time in seven years in areas such as social service, environmental conservation, women's sanitation management and education
Udaipur, January 30, 2025 - Dr Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, a member of the former royal family of Mewar, launched the Surya Uday Campaign yesterday by creating the largest figure of the Sun at the City Palace using solar lamps and entering the Guinness World Record. Guinness World Records honoured Dr Singh for this achievement.
This is Dr Singh's ninth Guinness World Record in various social service projects.
On this occasion, he said that the purpose of launching the Surya Uday Campaign is to distribute solar lamps to economically weaker families, lighting their homes with solar energy and initiating a live environmental conservation effort. The use of solar energy will promote environmental protection and economically weaker families will be relieved from the burden of electricity bills. Through solar energy, families will become self-reliant and no longer depend on external energy sources.
Over the past seven years, Dr Singh has established nine Guinness World Records in areas like social service, environmental conservation, women's sanitation management and education. These records, he said, were set with the intention of inspiring social service and civic responsibility… a mission that will continue.
