Udaipur’s Mansvi Scales Mt Aconcagua, Moves Closer to 'Seven Summits' Dream
Udaipur mountaineer Mansvi Agrawal creates history by conquering South America’s highest peak Aconcagua after Vinson Massif; becomes the second woman from Rajasthan to do so
Udaipur, Jan 23, 2026 - Talented mountaineer Mansvi Agrawal has once again added a golden chapter to the world of mountaineering, bringing pride to India and Rajasthan on the international stage. After successfully conquering Mount Vinson Massif, the highest peak of Antarctica, last month - becoming the first person from Rajasthan to achieve this feat - Mansvi has now scaled Mount Aconcagua, the highest peak of South America, located in the Andes mountain range, and unfurled the Indian tricolour at an altitude of nearly 7,000 metres (approximately 23,000 feet).
With this achievement, Mansvi has become the second woman from Rajasthan to reach the summit of Mount Aconcagua, after paramilitary force mountaineer Geeta Samota.
Only 12 Out of 22 Succeeded
Aconcagua is the highest peak outside Asia, spanning six continents and is known for its extreme weather conditions, including icy winds blowing at 70-80 km per hour and temperatures plunging to minus 30 degrees Celsius. Owing to these harsh conditions, only 12 out of 22 international climbers who were part of the expedition managed to successfully complete the summit.
From One Mission to the Next
Remarkably, Mansvi completed her Antarctica expedition on December 23, 2025, and without returning to India, embarked on her Aconcagua mission on January 9, 2026, with a gap of less than 15 days. Successfully completing two of the world’s toughest intercontinental expeditions within such a short time reflects her exceptional mental strength, physical endurance, and discipline.
Four of Seven Summits in Five Months
Earlier, Mansvi had successfully scaled Mount Elbrus (Europe) and Mount Kilimanjaro (Africa). With Aconcagua, she has now conquered the highest peaks of four continents within less than five months, setting a remarkable record. Her ultimate goal is to complete the prestigious “Seven Summits” challenge within one year by conquering the remaining three continental peaks.
Rigorous Training at Extreme Altitudes
Mansvi has undergone scientific and intensive mountaineering training from the Mountaineering Institute, Dirang and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, both operated by the Indian Army. These programmes involve staying and training for nearly a month on snow-covered peaks at altitudes exceeding 6,500 metres. She has also received advanced training from the Swami Vivekananda Rock Climbing Institute, earning certification as a professional instructor.
Excelling in Academics
Mansvi is equally accomplished in academics. She has completed her five-year law degree from Gujarat National Law University and is currently pursuing research in Environmental Law. Recently, she qualified the UGC Assistant Professor Eligibility Test with an impressive 99.2 percentile. She is also serving as an Assistant Professor at the prestigious Singhania Law College.
Her father, Dr TR Agrawal, is a retired Additional Director from the Rajasthan Finance Service, while her mother, Dr Saroj Agrawal, is a Professor of History at Meera Girls College, Udaipur.
