Eight students of the MDS Senior Secondary School have been selected in various International Olympiads being organized by Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). Udit Agrawal (Class XII), Kartikey Mathur, Divyansh Meha, Yash Gupta, Yash Nalways and Sujay Gupta (Class XI) got selected in the 1
st stage of National Science Talent Search Examination (NSTSE).
Sujay Gupta also got selected in National Science Olympiad (NSO) as well together with Yash Nalwaya, while Manjari Thapliyal and Bhumika Sharma got through the 1
st stage in National Standard Examination of Biology (NSEB). As told to us by Dr. Shailendra Somani, “the students of the school have been continuously proving their efficiency at the National Level and International Level and are doing remarkably well. Earlier also Yash Gupta & Yash Nalwaya, represented India & won Silver Medal in the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) which is one of the twelve International Science Olympiads, an annual competition for secondary school students. They were a part of the team that secured 3 Silver Medals and 1 Bronze medal in the IESO exam held at Modena, Italy. Yash Gupta had earlier also won the Gold Medal for India in IJSO – 2010 held in Abuja, Nigeria. He also won IGNOU-UNESCO Science Olympiad. Yash Gupta was among the top forty two winners out of 4000 participants who took the Olympiad on August 21, 2011. “This is incredible achievement by the students of the school. All XI and XII students are doing a very sincere justice with their academic abilities so far,” said Dr. Shailendra Somani, the Director of MDS Sr. Sec. School. He further said,” I will be more than happy if I contribute in producing more students who can become even better human beings and serve the Indian society in one way or another”. The Principal of the school Dr. Nidhi Maheshwari informed that the school is doing its best to inculcate the modern way to teaching keeping intact the spirit of Indian Culture. “Class XI and XII students start their day with a 15 minute prayer including meditation which helps them to build their concentration”, says Dr. Nidhi Maheshwari, who has done her Doctorate in Child Psychology in Modern Era.
