Mermaid Gauravi Singhvi is back in hometown Udaipur. Sunday night she was welcomed by family, friends, relatives, sports organisations and school representatives at Maharana Pratap Airport.

Gauravi Singhvi returned to Udaipur city creating a swimming record between Juhu Beach and Gateway of India at Mumbai. She swam for 9 hours 22 minutes to a distance of 47 kilometres. The moment Gauravi stepped out from the airport, she was welcomed with garlands and drum beats. Her grandparents were also present who showered her with unending blessings.

District Sports Officer Lalit Singh Jhala, Pankaj Sharma, Shanta Prince and Madhusudan Sharma were also present at the airport. Gauravi shared her journey of victory with all. She said that her next target is English Channel. Gauravi credited her victory to her coach Mahesh Paliwal and her mother Shubh Singhvi. While she was swimming in Mumbai Sea, her mother and her coach were on the rescue boat encouraging her efforts.

As of now, Gauravi has been asked to rest since she is suffering from fever. She was bitten by fish and also got wounded by fish net in water. She will then be preparing for her exams which are to begin from 18th February.
