The Fatehpura resident goes alone without porter, Sherpa or guide; takes only seven days to complete his trek from Lukla village in Nepal to the Base Camp and back
Udaipur, January 24, 2025 - Miqdad Taj of Udaipur has completed a solo journey to Mount Everest Base Camp in seven days. The unique part about this trip is that he was completely a solo traveller without a porter, and no Sherpa or a guide with him. The 33-year-old Fatehpura resident started his journey on January 7 from Lukla village in Nepal. In just five days he reached the Everest Base Camp while his return journey took two days.
According to Miqdad, completing this challenging 130-km journey in seven days is a record in itself and it was a difficult trek. During the journey, the daytime temperature would be -18°C, while the nighttime temperature ranged from -32°C to -36°C.
But, says the climber, he learnt a lot while facing and overcoming the difficulties.
His journey from the sea to the mountains was especially thrilling, he says.
Miqdad has been living in Bali, Indonesia, since the last two years. He has been trekking and diving since the last four years. He says his inspiration is his wife Nazia Bandookwala who is a professional scuba diving instructor.
