After announcing the awards to the most talented students, Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation has declared other top awards to some of the most elite personalities from India and the world in the upcoming 32nd MMFAA on 3rd March.

After announcing the awards to the most talented students, Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation has declared other top awards to some of the most elite personalities from India and the world in the upcoming 32nd MMFAA on 3rd March.

Dr. Farooq Abudullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Minja Yang of UNESCO, Arnab Goswami of Times Now, Shaurya Chakra Captain Uday Kumar Sondhi, DRDO Scientist Dr. Tessy Thomas and ecologist Dr. Vidya Athreya are a few renowned names who will be felicitated with national and international level awards.

Award ceremony will take place at Manak Chowk compound of City Palace on 3rd March at 4pm.

Dr. Mayank Gupta, programme coordinator, said that this year MMFAA will honor Minja Yang with Colonel Todd Award for her contribution to conserve Indian Heritage buildings. Because of Yang’s (Living Heritage) initiative, Udaipur got recognition on the world map. Yang, the founder of Indian Heritage Cities Network Foundation, is currently serving as UNESCO’s director for Asia-Pacific region.

Yang will be honored with Rs. 111,001 as prize money with a certificate of appreciation and shawl.

Arnab Goswami, Chief Editor and senior journalist of Times Now will be honored with Haldi Ghati Award; Goswami is well known for his outspoken characteristics, straight forwardness and has always led constructive discussions on national and political issues to bring out the truth in public domain.

The Award Hakim Khan Sur is given to those individuals who have constantly contributed in maintaining communal harmony, patriotism and national unity in the country. Thus, for his determination and attempt to keep harmony, Dr. Farooq Abdullah former Chief Minister of Jammu &Kashmir will be honored with Hakim Khan Sur Award.

For Environment Conservation, Dr. Tessy Thomas, project director of Agni Missile and ecologist Dr. Vidya Athreya, will be honored with Maharana Uday Singh Award.

Dr. Tessy Thomas has proved her capabilities as a first woman scientist of India to head a missile project while Dr. Aterya has extensively researched on the movement of leopard and people residing near forest areas of Maharashtra and Himachal Pradesh.

Showing his extra ordinary courage, intellect and presence of mind Captain Uday Sondhi had protected a civilian area when his plane was about to crash. Sondhi successfully took the plane towards a deserted area. During this, he lost his leg, but after recovery, he again joined the military and is serving the nation.

For his unusual audacity, Shaurya Chakra Captin Uday Sondhi will be awarded with Pannadhay Award.

According to Dr. Mayank Gupta, coordinator, all these honorable personalities have agreed to take part in the program and will arrive in Udaipur on 3rd of March.
