June 20, 2025 - The five-match Test series between India and England (IND vs ENG) is set to begin on June 20 in Leeds. Fast bowler Harshit Rana got a surprise entry into Team India’s squad for this series.

After Rana was selected, Indian fast bowler Mukesh Kumar, who was left out of the squad for the England tour, posted a cryptic story on his Instagram. Mukesh shared this story just two days before the first Test, and it quickly caught everyone’s attention.

Many fans believe this story was indirectly aimed at coach Gautam Gambhir and Rana.

The Karma Post

“Karma takes its time. You always have to be careful. Karma is unforgiving and always takes revenge.”

Dropped Despite Strong Showing

Before the England series began, Mukesh played the first unofficial Test against the England Lions in Canterbury and took three wickets. Yet he was left out of the playing XI for the second match in Northampton. He also did not feature in the intra-squad practice game at Kent last week.

Rana’s Surprise Call-Up

Shortly after Mukesh’s post, the BCCI confirmed that Rana - who had been with the India A side - was added to the Test squad to prepare for the series opener in Leeds.

Rana’s Test Debut and Form

Rana made his Test debut on India’s tour of Australia in November 2024. In that first match at Perth, he took four wickets in a commanding 295-run win. During the unofficial Test in Canterbury, he claimed one wicket and even hit two sixes off England spinner Rehan Ahmed.
