[Obituary] Dr. Abbas Alvi Passes Away at Udaipur
An iconic figure among the Dawoodi Bohra community, Dr. Abbas Alvi passed away today after a sudden heart condition. Resident of the Moti Magri scheme, he was 58 year old.
An iconic figure among the Dawoodi Bohra community, Dr. Abbas Alvi passed away today after a sudden heart condition. Resident of the Moti Magri scheme, he was 58 year old.
The heart attack occurred at around 1pm today while he was in Darshan Dental College, Loera, Udaipur, where he used to work. His colleagues rushed him to Udaipur for treatment, but as per authorities at Darshan Dental his condition deteriorated on the way to the MB Hospital and he collapsed. The doctors declared him dead when they reached the hosipital.
Dr. Alvi, a medical doctor by profession, was a highly respected figure among the Dawoodi Bohra Youth Community due to his profound knowledge of Islam and the manner in which he passed on this knowledge to the masses, specially the youngsters of the community.
Giving further insight into the personality of the deceased, a senior member of the community said that even though Dr. Alvi was a part of a very hectic and demanding profession of medicine, it needs to be appreciated that he gave tremendous amount of time to learning and reading about Islam and conveying it to his family, brethren and society at large.
As a part of this social activity, he delivered his lectures and sermons in various cities in India, UK, Middle East and Africa.
