Dr Hari Singh Chundawat was from a beautiful hamlet from Chittorgarh district named Rampuriya, born at Thakur Sardar Singh house on New Year’s Day in India’s freedom year 1947. There he spent his childhood in great difficulties and read in government school till eighth class after that he joined Bhupal Nobles’ School for further classes and with his great efforts and hard work, he won over hardship and cleared medical entrance exam and become doctor. He did his MS in Ophthalmology in 1973and become Assistant Professor in RNT Medical College and Professor at SMS Medical College and later on he went to Nigeria in 1980 to 1983 on one deputation in practice and teaching there.

He has very spiritual and pious mindset from beginning that took him to Osho’s contact in 1973 and he show the path to meet Mahatma Bhuri bai a very holy saint from Nathdwara was the disciple of Saint Baoji Chatur Singhji her philosophy was complete ‘chup’ silence while awareness of self. He was very simple, clear hearted, always cheering, meet patient with very calm and enthusiastic manner. He married to Bal kanwar daughter of very notable personality and founder of Shree Kshatriya Yuvak and MP of Barmer Tan Singh ji in 1970. Tan Singhji was also very great motivator, politician, advocate and writer, the impression of his persona also influenced Dr HS Chundawat, he learnt a lot from him.

After coming from Nigeria he started his own practice in ophthalmology and started Alakh Aashish Hospital in Ashoknagar with low fund and equipments, even his wife assisted him in his surgery in initial years, gradually his charismatic professionalism and his acumen in surgery and practice appreciated by all Udaipur and Mewar zone and he done a great charity work for eradication of blindness from this region. Along with his practice he visited Mahatma Bhuri bai’s Alakh Ashram, Nathdwara on every Sunday and Gurupurnima for satsanga and Ramayana path.

He liked to meet all holy saints and discuss with them about life, purpose and art of living. He has great influence on his society also, people come to seek his advise every now and then on their common problems and always got simple and pragmatic solution. He visited so many countries for presenting his work and research in various conferences in United States of America, United Kingdom, China, Japan, Singapore, Argentina, Italy etc. In 1991 he shifted his hospital to Durga nursery road by name of Alakh Nayan Mandir Eye Institute. His daughters Dr Laxmi and Meenakshi also joined him with his work while managing daily chores and growth of hospital rose many leaps and bounds only in some years, after doing so much work he thinks he should do his work entirely for the society at low cost and high quality he made his private hospital to a charitable trust in 1997.

Dr LS Jhala his son in law also joined him in 2000 and hospital growth was exponential in a short span of time. Dr Kamal Singh Rathore, academician of pharmaceutical sciences is his second son in law. Dr HS Chundawat took leave from his work in 2008 and spends his time entirely on spirituality and fulfill his dream project Pratapnagar Alakh Nayan Mandir Eye Institute and Research Centre biggest eye institute in Rajasthan, in 2008 CM of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje laid foundation stone and in 2016 it was completed and inaugurated by holy Morari Bapu renowned saint and famous for Ramkatha. Now this hospital is providing all kind of world level facilities related to eye ailments cataract, glaucoma, refraction errors, retinal problems, dry eyes, and others. He got various accolades and honors for his noble services to human kind.

Dr HS Chundawat also leaves a life of austere in Rishikesh at Swargashrama with Swami Ramsukhdas ji Maharaj for one year and he constructed a beautiful lotus temple at the Mahtma Bhuri bai’s self-realization place and kept his ‘charan raj’ instead of any idol or picture. He also did renovation work of Alakh ashram in Nathdwara and now canopy of Mahatma Bhuri bai is under construction. He also did so many pilgrimages with his family and village men and women and organized Bhagwad katha for them many times. He used to clad white cloths only. In last part of his life he was living in his village on his farm house and cultivating foods and planting many fruit and green trees. He used to go in camps of Shree Kshatriya Yuvak Sangh and give his lectures for the character building and samskara nirman for the youths there. After a short course of illness he left this mortal world for holy abode journey on Jan26, 2017. A huge gathering was present on his funeral at Mahasatiya, Ayed, on Jan27, 2017. He will be remembered for his noble service, sacrifice, love, devotion, dedication, spirituality, benevolent and administration.
