Late Om Puri was paid a fitting tribute as he was included in the “Memorium” segment at the just concluded Oscars 2017  ceremony.

Academy Awards condoled the demise of veteran Om Puri in a special segment at the Oscars ceremony, when he was included in the list of movie legends who passed away in 2016.  The tribute was paid by Grammy and Toby nominated singer Sara Bareilles when she delivered a special performance of the Joni Mitchell song Both Sides Now and it left many emotional.

Om Puri was paid tribute along side Carrie Fisher, Prince, Gene Wilder, John Hurt, Curtis Hanson, Michael Cimino, Patty Duke, Garry Marshal, Anton Yelchin and Mary Tyler Moore
