Parliament security officer, Pilot’s mom to be felicitated on I-Day

Kishanlal Jat, a senior security assistant in Rajya Sabha and Sushila Nagori, mother of Navy Pilot Lt Abhinav Nagori are be among the 53 people in Udaipur who have been shortlisted for their accomplishments/contributions in various fields to be felicitated at the district level Independence Day function on Saturday at Gandhi ground here.

Kishanlal Jat, a senior security assistant in Rajya Sabha and Sushila Nagori, mother of Navy Pilot Lt Abhinav Nagori are be among the 53 people in Udaipur who have been shortlisted for their accomplishments/contributions in various fields to be felicitated at the district level Independence Day function on Saturday at Gandhi ground here.

Jat, a security officer in the parliament had done a noble act of uniting  a  man who had been missing for 40 long years, with his loved ones. Shankar, a mentally challenged man had been living a life of anonymity in Raiyya village in Haryana.

Jat who hails from Palana Kala village of Mavli block in the district met Shankar when he happened to visit the place and after realizing that he spoke in Mewari accent, Jat took immense pain to trace Shankar’s family in Udaipur without any clue. He circulated posters across South Rajasthan, spread messages on social media and finally succeeded to unite the old man with his kins on June 15 at Goran Kala village in Madar panchayat of Udaipur.

Sushila Nagori, the principal of DIET (District Institute for Education and Training) would be felicitated with ‘Veer Prasuta’ award on the occasion. Sushila is  mother of braveheart Abhinav Nagori, a 25-year-old pilot in Navy who lost his life in the line of duty.

Abhinav along with two officers Nikhil Kuldip Joshi and Kiran Shekhawat had been in a Dornier surveillance aircraft for a routine sortie that crashed into the Arabian Sea off the Goa coast on March 24. Commander Joshi, was rescued by fishermen within hours of the crash while the rescue team found  the body of Lt. Kiran Shekhawat in the fuselage of the crashed aircraft two days later.

Abhinav’s body was discovered on the fourth day from inside the aircraft whose cremation was done with full military honors on March 29 here. Abhinav’s parents Dharamchand and Sushila Nagori who endured the grief of losing their only son with a brave face have started a trust in memory of their son donating with donation of 25 lakh rupees to assist those children in studies who aim to join armed forces.
