People of Udaipur - Amreen Fatima Lulua Ahsan, Author and Educator

We, the team at UdaipurTimes, are committed to bring to our readers the success stories of our fellow Udaipurites who have made their marks in their fields, earned accolades, contributed to the society and have made Udaipur proud.

In the People’s of Udaipur series this time we are featuring Ms. Amreen Fatima’s story.

Amreen is an educator by profession and an author by choice. Amreen is a NRI residing in the city of Doha, Qatar.

Early years and Education

Born and brought up in our beloved city of Udaipur, she did her schooling from The Study, bachelor's degree from Mohan Lal Sukhadia University and MBA from Sikkim Manipal University.

She was always inclined towards writing and found solace in penning her thoughts down. She fondly recalls her first ever writing piece, a letter to her father, written in Hindi when she was just five years old. Her father has treasured that letter till date.

Commitment and Sincerity

She acknowledges that she got serious about writing during the pandemic.

Where there is a will, there is a way”,she says. Soon, she got a chance to showcase her talent through anthologies, newspaper columns, and e-magazines.

This got her rolling and she wrote her first solo book, “Stories of Greenshire

Amreen says writing a book while being a full time mother to an ever demanding toddler was no mean feat. “It was truly a dream come true achievement of my life”. When asked how she managed to complete her dream project with family commitments during the pandemic, she says her ability to prioritize her tasks and manage her time well helped her maintain a balance between work and family.

She gives credit to her husband and her publication house FanatiXx for supporting and guiding her.

Art and the Artist

Amreen loves and appreciates art in all its forms, be it writing, drawing, painting, henna art, embroidery or sewing. She has her own YouTube channel and a Facebook page dedicated to her creativity, called Crazy Art and Ameenun Gallery respectively.

Amreen says she has participated in more than ten anthologies, of which five are already completed and available on Flipkart and Amazon while the other five are yet to be completed. She usually uses both Hindi and English as a medium of expression. ‘Saf e Ghazal’ is her favorite anthology out of those already in the market.

When I asked “Who is closer to your heart - Amreen, the author, or Amreen, the educator?” She replied, “It is challenging to separate Amreen the author from Amreen the Educator because when you read most of my writing, you will find that they are either highlighting some social issues or preaching something directly or indirectly. Whatever satisfaction I get from writing any text, it will definitely be less than what I get when I see my student succeeding and doing great in his or her life and the respect they give me as an educator. Even my book “Stories from Greenshire” is a moral storybook for children where children can have fun learning while reading stories. So, I can say that Amreen, the educator, is closer to my heart and has found a way of teaching through her writings.”

Works and Recognitions

She loves to write in all genres, but her favorite is writing poems, especially on social issues.
