The star shuttler got married to IT professional Venkata Datta Sai at a grand ceremony in Raffles Udaipur on December 22
Udaipur, December 23, 2024 - One of badminton’s greats, PV Sindhu got married yesterday, December 22, at Raffles Udaipur. Sindhu tied the knot with IT professional Venkata Datta Sai from Hyderabad in a ceremony held according to South Indian traditions. The event was kept private, with only family members, close friends and a few other guests in attendance.
According to sources, the pre-wedding functions took off with sangeet from December 20. Haldi, pellikuthuru and mehndi ceremonies were held the previous evening, on December 21. The couple will host a grand reception in Hyderabad tomorrow, December 24.
The wedding vows (pheras) took place at around 11:20 pm yesterday. The menu included South Indian delicacies, along with Mewari and local dishes.
Although the guest lists had included celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Neeraj Chopra, Alia Bhatt and the who’s who is politics, only a select few were present. One of the notable guests was Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Sindhu is a five-time BWF World Championship winner (with a gold in 2019). The star shuttler is also the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals and recently bagged the Syed Modi India International title defeating China’s Wu Luo Yu.
