Difference Between Hiking, Trekking and Mountaineering

Rajvardhan says that hiking, trekking and mountaineering each present different levels of challenges. He describes them thus:

  • Hiking: A light walk typically at low altitudes and short distances.
  • Trekking: A more challenging journey, covering long distances and higher altitudes.
  • Mountaineering: Climbing mountains, using technical equipment to ascend to high peaks.

How to Start Mountaineering?

Rajvardhan advises young people to start with hiking and trekking before attempting mountaineering. Udaipur's geographical location is ideal for learning trekking and hiking, as the city's hills, forests, and lakes naturally attract youth to adventure sports.

Future Plans

Rajvardhan dreams of hoisting the tricolour on top of Mount Everest in the future. He also aims to raise awareness about trekking, mountaineering and adventure sports among the youth of Udaipur and Rajasthan. Over the past two years, he has introduced more than 1,000 young people in Udaipur to hiking and trekking experiences.

He also mentioned that the total cost of the Everest Base Camp trek was around Rs 2.5 lakh, which was supported by his family and local sponsors. He advises young aspirants that if one is dedicated to a goal, sponsors and supporters will naturally come forward.

Rajvardhan delivers a powerful message to millions of young people: "Limits exist only in our minds. With hard work, self-confidence, and passion, every peak can be conquered”.
