Ashoka University's Archives of Contemporary India’s team came from Delhi to collect Udaipur based naturalist Dr. Raza H. Tehsin’s lifetime of works in wildlife research and conservation - his field notes, diaries, correspondences, research papers, audio visuals, press cuttings, books - to archive them for scholars and naturalists worldwide. These archives will also be digitized to preserve them for posterity and allow their remote access to present and future scholars and researchers across the world.
The team that visited Dr. Tehsin comprised of Director Deepa Bhatnagar, Assistant Director Ravin Kumar and Senior Archivist Deepshika Salooja.
“It was a great pleasure going through Raza Tehsin sahib’s papers of his remarkable life and work. This precious collection has further enriched our archives,” - Deepa Bhatanagar.
Professor Mahesh Rangarajan, Head of the Department of History, Ashoka University and Raza Kazmi, eminent researcher and wildlife historian, initiated securing Dr. Tehsin’s archives and proposed him to donate his collection to the university.

Ashoka Archives’ team is one of the best teams of archivists in any public institution in India. It houses the collections of other luminaries such as Mahatma Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore, President Radhakrishnan, Manmohan Singh, Kuldip Nayyar, Girish Karnad and Ramchandra Guha.
