After smashing the humongous 18,426 runs in 463 ODIs, the Bradman of the modern era and The Legend of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar, ended up his splendid 23 years one-day career, with 49 centuries and 96 half centuries; and finally announced his retirement today.

“Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar announces retirement from the one-day format of the game,” the BCCI tweeted today morning.

In a statement released by BCCI, the master blaster said, “I have decided to retire from the One-Day format of the game. I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup wining Indian team. The preparatory process to defend the World Cup in 2015 should begin early and in right earnest”

39 years old one of the all time great batsman holds many records in his name. His contribution to cricket will be remembered for ages to come.
