Salah Wins PFA Player of the Year for Record Third Time

Aug 21, 2025 - Liverpool star Mohamed Salah carved out a new chapter in football history by becoming the first male player to win the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Players’ Player of the Year award three times. On August 19, 2025, he was honoured for his outstanding performance in the 2024-25 season at the Professional Footballers' Association awards

Of six shortlisted footballers, Salah topped the voting to claim the honour. The Egyptian international’s achievement stands out as no other player - including legends like Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Kevin De Bruyne -has achieved this honour more than twice.

This is also the 10th time a Liverpool player has received the award. Salah previously won it in the 2017-18 and 2021-22 seasons.

Salah has scored 187 goals for Liverpool with 29 goals in the 2024-25 season.

Spain and Arsenal midfielder Mariona Caldentey was voted the Women's Player of the Year in English soccer for last season. Caldentey had an outstanding season in which she scored 19 goals across competitions and helped Arsenal lift the Women’s Super League and reach the Champions League final.
