Rajni Dangi informed today that State Government has granted permission to extend the Fair timing up till 12 am. We have received the permission orders from the Deputy Secretary, Government of Rajasthan.
Dangi also said that we had asked State Government for the extension of Fair timings and the loud speakers through a letter on 30th October, of which we have received reply today.
Other Perspective of the Permission
Rajasthan Noise Control Act 1963: The Supreme Court had defined ‘night’ to mean a period between 10 pm and 6 am, and a complete ban has been placed on playing loud music or making any kind of noise.
Yet a peaceful ‘night’ on occasions, like marriages, private parties and “ratri jagrans” is a dream for Udaipurites.
Despite a clear Supreme Court directive in 2005 to observe “Night” during 10 pm to 6 am, the orders have been flouted with impunity.
