The Yuvaz: Youth For A Cause

Yuvaz is the social group of college going teenagers, like any other youngsters they also love socializing with friends, hanging out in coffee shops and having fun all around. But despite of all these normal characteristics, this gang of 10 has something exceptional. They all have a self made promise to themselves, a promise of “making a difference in other’s lives” simply by spreading social awareness, for social cause, but how? Just by partying!

If that sounds pretty impossible to you then they bet to prove you wrong because what is impossible is always possible for Yuvaz as they have a noble purpose for their lives, love for their society, place and people.

It is hard to believe that someone can do social work while throwing a party, dancing on floor and enjoying to their fullest but that’s the reason why Yuvaz and their mission is so unique and so Noble.

Today, on July 24th they made another successful bash at Aroma Garden, Udaipur with 200 stunningly fuelled crowds of collegians, though they all came to have a rocking weekend with some hip hop and rocking music but the core mission was something else. The mission was in fact a message to the attendees that we have some kids who met with a harsh destiny in their early life when they loss their parents forever, society gave them a new name –Orphan and a new home called – Orphanage.

The Yuvaz: Youth For A Cause

RISE UP is the name of mission or an actual theme of this event which has pushed the alarming buzzer of responsibility and love for these children who don’t need sympathy but they expect friendly or brotherly hands on their shoulder to guide them how to fight with this world because these children are responsibility of society, not just an orphanage.

There are lots of people who love partying, we also love to do it but we wish to make it  meaningful by conveying serious message to the mass, that’s what we do and we will continue Says Abhimanyu Rao, a founding member of the group.

Today’s party is going to change lives of more than a dozen of Orphan children of Udaipur Mahila and Baal Vikas Samiti, Udaipur. Yuvaz with helping hands of Pacific College Udaipur is going to take the responsibility of every educational expense of these children for a year.

RISE UP was anchored by film artist Ankit Mathur and Pradeep Pandey an ex RJ of 94.3 my FM. The chief guest was Honorable Vice Chairman Mahendra Shekhawat.

Today’s party might also produce some more Yuvaz to build a stronger team and to make more such positive effects to spread the social message to every yuva(young/youth) of Udaipur.

How was Yuvaz Started

The Yuvaz: Youth For A CauseThe initiative was taken last year 24th July 2009 by 18 year old Yogi Sachdev an Udaipurite studying in Mumbai’s Thakur College. Yogi loves dancing and also is a member of Mumbai’s top dance group SHARP-SHOOTERS. He is always concerned about Udaipur and every wrong, negative, bad and worst thing going around be it an Environmental, Educational, Social or Political issue. Yogi wishes to make real difference in people lives by doing something different. He got an army of likeminded, young and energetic youth like him. Soon, it became a powerful group of youth which was named Yuvaz ( Yuva in Hindi means Youngster).

Today Yuvaz has 10 members named Yogi Sachdev, Sahil Thakur, Abhimanyu Rao, Puneet Nagpal, Rahul Chandel, Mandeep Singh, Nitin Dahima, Ashish Kamra, Sneha Joshi and Miti Godawat. All are students, all are from Udaipur and all are genius in their field of work either promoting their event, arranging things, meeting people or anything they can do.

In 2009 they came up with their first event Wake Up Youth to give a message of clean and green Udaipur which was attended by 300 people.

However, they sometimes encounter problems with local government authorities, the problem is lack of support and help which they need the most to continue their social mission keep going for more coming years.

The Yuvaz has also put a donation box with the help of Ashoka Bakers at their food court. The amount collected will be used for this noble cause.

Today’s youth are unpredictably different than any past generations, earlier when I was in my teens I used to just think of good for something like this but never gathered enough guts to come out of my house and switch on the “action” button. These young turks have strong will power which generates tons of guts to make it real.

UT wishes them great success in all their missions and life ahead. We hope to see lot more Yuvaz coming up and joining their hands for the noble cause.
