Udaipur based Kalava Art and Craft organised a two day design workshop on Design Thining.

This workshop was organised under the auspices of Fair Trade Farm India and European Union, under the directions of Kriti Detha and Madhu Detha. Gemini Brahmbhat, Team Coordinator at Fair Trade Farm India was the Chief Guest at this two day session. The workshop witnessed participation by 50 artisan women from across the district. The program was conceived in order to instill self reliance in the artisan women, who were mainly from the rural background. Madhu Detha said that during the program, training and information was disseminated to women. The information was related to handicraft. Two batches, each of 25 women participants were given this training over a two day period.

She also said that the motive was not only to train and inform, but also to instill confidence so that they can be self reliant when it comes to designing. Their designs will capture the interest and taste of the buyers and this will help them grow. The women artisans were trained on Design Thining Tools and personality development.

Madhu also gave a presentation on the work done and performance of Kalava Arts.
