Janab Aziz BS Vaziri, the Aamil of the Dawoodi Bohra community in Udaipur voiced his concerns on the ongoing COVID situation in Udaipur and gave his views on the adherence to social distancing.
In his address to the people of Udaipur, Janaab Aziz Vaziri also appreciated the efforts undertaken in the form of Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care services, which began on 14 October in Udaipur.
His message to the community ranged from observing social distancing in spirit to ensuring that outdoor activities are restricted to the bare minimum. He observed that the community is not addressing the seriousness of the pandemic in the way it should be and are not aware of what should be done at each stage of the illness.
He also expressed his appreciation of the work undertaken by the Dawoodi Bohra COVID care team of doctors and volunteers from the community in this initiative, which is one of its kind.

He advised members of the community to take advantage of the Helpline services and Home quarantine and isolation services provided by the Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care services. Janaab Aziz also assured all support to the service from the community.
Under the Dawoodi Bohra COVID Care Service, volunteers and doctors of the community have got together to deliver an awareness campaign through the YouTube platform. Doctors with expertise in different domains in the health care field will voice their understanding of the COVID community spread and express opinions to create awareness within the community. The purpose of this service will be to make the members of the community aware of the care and immediate steps to be taken in case of suspicion of COVID infection as well as the care to be taken during treatment, both in home isolation as well as in hospital and post treatment care.
The health care specialists panel, comprising of Dr Abbas Saifee, Dr Ashfaq Hussain, Dr Ishaq Shah, Dr Saleh Mohammad Kagzi, Dr Rehana Banu, Dr Nazima Saloda, Dr Anis Jukkerwala, Dr Mansoor Ali Alvi, Dr Shoeb Kutub, Dr Miqdad Hussain Bohra and Dr Quresh Bambora will address the members of the community and at the same time, will be providing real time direct as well as indirect support to those availing the services of the helpline.
This service also incorporates a Helpline that is being led by Dr Shabnam Ali with the support of Ms Santosh Salvi. This helpline will address all queries and concerns of members of the community in respect of COVID care.
Medicines and COVID care kits will be made available at nominal charges at the Bohra Youth Dispensary in Bohrawadi, Udaipur and home isolation and quarantine support will also be provided at a later stage as required.
