Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur was placed second in the list of airports across the nation in terms of service quality and customer satisfaction.

Director of the Maharan Pratap Airport received the award from Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Jayan Sinha. This ceremony was a part of the 23rd Annual Day celebrations of the AAI. In his message the minister said that in the unprecedented growth of the Indian aviation sector, customer service is of utmost importance.

The award was a result of a survey conducted by a private agency under the directions of the Airport Authority of India.  Udaipur airport achieved a score of 4.76 in customer satisfaction. Raipur airport took first place with 4.82 points. Privately managed airports of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Cochin were not included in the list of 53 airports across which the survey was conducted. Third place was bagged by Dehradun airport.

The customer satisfaction survey, which took place from November 2017 till March 2018, had participating customers rank the airports across various parameters. These included airport cleanliness, speed of baggage delivery, availability of clean washrooms, baggae trolley availability and management, check in queue management, safety and security, time taken for security check, behavior of staff, internet access, wifi quality, restaurant, availability of food, banking facility, shopping options, business lounge, executive lounge, and the overall environment at the airport.

About Udaipur Airport Udaipur Airport is spread over 504 acres.The airport has one asphalt runway, oriented 08/26, 9000 feet/ 2743 metres long and 45 metres wide. Its 250 by 150 metre apron provides parking space for 3 Boeing 737s or Airbus A320 aircraft at a time. The new terminal building, measuring 2500 sq. metres, was constructed at a cost of ₹80 Crores. The terminal has two boarding gates, 4 Check-in counters and can handle 600 passengers during peak hours. The airport is equipped with modern navigational and landing aids like DME/VOR and NDB. Runway 26 is equipped with a CAT-I Instrument Landing System.
