Udaipur's contribution to the Indian Defence got another addition as Nikhil Jangid got his commission as Assistant Commandant in the Indian Coast Guard.

Udaipur’s contribution to the Indian Defence got another addition as Nikhil Jangid got his commission as Assistant Commandant in the Indian Coast Guard.

Having completed his schooling from St. Gregorious, Udaipur, Nikhil, aged 24 years, pursued his BTech in Electronics from Sir Padampat Singhania University in Udaipur.  He appeared for the examinations for the Coast Guard and subsequent to clearing his rigorous interview in the Service Selection Board (SSB), joined the Indian Naval Academy at Azimla, Kerala.

Nikhil says that he got the inspiration to join the forces from his aunt Monika Jangid.

His training at the Academy lasted from 26th December 2013 to 31st May 2014 and was commissioned as Assistant Commandant in the passing out parade under the chair of Kerala Governor, Sheila Dixit.

Nikhil belongs to Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan but his family migrated to Udaipur a long time ago.  His father runs a Marble business in the city and his mother is a teacher.
