Committee on Economic, Commercial Laws and Economic Advisory (CECL & EA) contributes to the economic development of India by studying, analysing and recommending suggestions to the various economic and commercial laws and rules and regulations and advising members and other advisory bodies.

Udaipur's leading Chartered Accountant, Veerendra Singh Nahar has been co-opted as member of the national Committee on Economic, Commercial Laws and Economic Advisory (CECL & EA) by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, New Delhi.

Nahar is a Chartererd Accountant from the ICAI November 1982 batch.  Subsequent to clearing his Chartered Accountant examination, he joined Hindustan Zinc Ltd as Senior Accounts Officer, and after working with HZL for 6 years, began his individuall practice from 1 April 1989 under the name VS Nahar & Co.  Nahar is also a B.Com Gold Medallist from the Mohanlal Sukhadia University (erstwhile Udaipur Vishwavidhyalay).

ICAI, in its notification dated 4 March 2020, appointed VS Nahar to the Committee on Economic, Commercial Laws and Economic Advisory (CECL & E A) of the ICAI.  The committee, in line with one of the Institute’s objectives "Partners in Nation Building”  and with a vision to contribute to economic development of India, aims to study the various Economic, Commercial Laws, Rules/Regulations/Notifications issued.

This facilitates the ICAI to make representations/suggestions arising out of aforementioned studies and also undertakes such activities to technically equip/broaden the scope of expertise of the members to enable them to derive advantages in the rapidly changing world scenario.  Further, this facilitates and enables members to render various business advisory and support services.

The Committee’s mandate, interalia includes serving the multi-functional task of Analysis, Knowledge dissemination, inputs to regulators on policy formulation, organization of various programs on contemporary issues and certificate courses in the fields of Economic & Commercial Laws.
