Udaipur Hoteliers Angry with Municipal Council

Members of Hotel Association of Udaipur gathered at Commissioner Balmukund Asawa’s chamber in early hours of Monday. They asked commissioner to reconsider their orders and discussed the issues and problems regarding the so called notice.

Subhash Ranawat, President of Udaipur Hotel Association said that a calm and deeply considerated outcome is what hotel owners are expecting from municipal council, so the high volume tourism industry of Udaipur should not get affected by it.

Several commercial activities are gaining ground in the residential colonies of Udaipur. Many residential colonies of the lake city Udaipur have some houses which are being used for commercial purposes, without any legal permit.

Residential homes around Udiyapol are being used for commercial purposes without the permission from Municipality council. Hotels & Restaurant owners are being probed about (permit) the change of land usage. Sewerage arrangement by every Hotel owner is also under scanner. The stir is bubbling up among restaurant owners.

The colonies which are under effect of illegal use are Sarvaritu Vilas, Shivaji Nagar, Agrasen Nagar, Mogarwadi, Bhupal pura, Ashok Nagar, Hiran Magri Sector -3, 4, 5, 6,8,11 etc. Residential homes are turning into commercial hotels & restaurants.

Munciple Corporation is taking it as a barometer & curtain raiser to sieve out those illegal owners who don’t have land usage change permit. Those who lack proper sewerage system are also under scanner. Concerned officers have been given charge for further action.

“We don’t want to impose rules, but to establish a disciplined system.”  Balmukund Asava (commissioner of Municipal Council.) stated.

Here is the list of probes by Municipal Council.

  • Permit of Change of land usage.
  • Sewerage arrangement in hotels & restaurants.
  • Approval of Map done or not.
  • Ownership of the land.

Municipal Corporation has announced that if demanded information is not provided by hotel & restaurant owners, their licenses can’t be renewed.
