Well known photo journalist from Udaipur, Tarachand Gawariya was awarded the best photograph award on the theme on Simhast Kumbh. He was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 1 Lakh on the occasion. The award was given by Ravatpura Sarkar Nyas located at Chitrakoot Nagar. This was a national level competition and attracted photography enthusiasts from across the country.

His photograph covering Naga Sadhu, rain and a deer was rated as the best photograph. This photograph was clicked during the first Naga Deeksha ceremony at Bhookhi Mata ghat during the kumbh festival. The photograph showcases a deer waiting for his master (Naga sadhu) during heavy rain and the sadhus shivering in rain.

Second prize was awarded to Dinesh Jatav of Ujjain while Rahul Joshi from Indore was awarded the third prize. Consolation prizes were given to Devendra Kumar, Pradeep Joshi, Anurag Chhajlani, Mahendra Rathore and Sudhir Saxena.
