Udaipur Photo Journalist to receive Gold Medal

Krishna Tanwar, photo journalist with Rajasthan Patrika (Udaipur) has been selected for receiving the Gold Medal in the recently held 1st Rajasthan National Print Circuit Competition.

Krishna Tanwar, photo journalist with Rajasthan Patrika (Udaipur) has been selected for receiving the Gold Medal in the recently held 1st Rajasthan National Print Circuit Competition.

The competition was held in the joint association of Jodhana Photo Journalist Society and Lakecity Camera Club Udaipur. 29-year-old Krishna Tanwar clicked the photograph of a few people when they accidently fell off from a moving vehicle.

The photo was clicked when the supposedly overloaded vehicle of a political activist was rallying around the city, soon after the amendment of the state cabinet. Due to congestion, a few members accidently rolled on to the ground but nobody was seriously injured. This award winning photo was clicked by Krishna Tanwar (in photo below) at Surajpol area of Udaipur.

250 contestants submitted 2600 photographs in the competition that was held in five different categories including Black and White, Color Print, Nature Print, Photo Journalism and Photo Travel.

Ramji Vyas, President of the Jodhana Photo Journalist Society has informed that in every category there were three gold medals and five consolation prizes given.

Krishna Tanwar has been selected for the Late Jaykant Sharma Memorial Gold Medal while Sharad Agrawal of Udaipur has also been selected for the Gold medal in Nature Print category.

The same photo by Krishna has also been awarded in the Rajasthan Patrika Journalism 2011 as Best Photograph and won the 3rd position at the National Level.
