Udaipur Skating genius Labdhi felicitated by I&B Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore
Cabiner Minister holding independant charge for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, felicitated young Udaipur skater Labdhi Surana. Labdhi, the last 24 months and at a tender age of 8 years, has taken the skating world by storm in India
Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, on visited Udaipur today on the occasion of Pratap Jayanti.
On this occasion, also being a Cabiner Minister holding independant charge for the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, felicitated young Udaipur skater Labdhi Surana. Labdhi, the last 24 months and at a tender age of 8 years, has taken the skating world by storm in India.
In 2017, she bagged the Gold and Bronze at different events in the International Speedskating Kriterium in Germany. She was felicitated by the President of India in November 2017. This year, she won two back to back International tournaments, bagging the Europa Cup championship in Austria in May and then immediately getting the Silver at the International Roller Skating European Championship in Germany on 10th June.
Addressing the gathering during the celebrations for the Pratap Jayanti, the Minister said that India stands and grows due to its unity. He added that every citizen of the country must unite, irrespective of caste or community and build new India. That will be the real tribute to Maharan Pratap.
He said that it was not only Pratap alone that fought for his land – Mewar, but had it not been for his soldiers like Bhamashah, the support soldiers, the lohars and others he would have found success hard to get. Hence a unit is built out of unity of citizens.
Rathore further added that the image building exercise for the country, being carried out by the PM Office will yield results. Fighting corruption has been the priority of the government. He released a book – Bemisaal Udaipur – 2014-2018 on the occasion.
Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria and Mayor Chandra Singh Kothari were also present on the occasion.
