There is nothing that can stop you from achieving your dreams if you have the passion and courage. 14-year-old twin boys of Udaipur worked non-stop for months and with a passion of film making ended up making a sci-fi film that is scheduled to be screened at more than dozen international film festivals.

‘The Adventures of Palchingiri’ is an hour long science fiction movie which after being screened at Chicago, San Diego, Boston, Seattle, Busan and Cairo etc. will release in theaters in India next March.

“Like other kids, we too used to be immersed in the world of animation and games. One day our father said, ‘Why don’t you let the world watch your animation instead of two of you watching animation all day’,” said Pal and Chin to a national daily.

The boys then started looking at the animation tutorials and within a year, they developed a few animated games. When Pal was 8, their parents took him to MAAC (a Ketan Mehta-promoted animation institute) in Mumbai and after analyzing his talent, the institute people allowed him to undertake an advance course in animation which is generally not meant for children.

Pal also joined the Mumbai Digital Academy for a short screenplay course and during the course; he assisted the institute’s director for a short film. “The learning boosted the confidence of our family and they proposed to make a movie,” said the duo.

For the film, their house turned into a studio with Pal, Chin and their mother Manju being the lead actors as well as played the role of lightman, cameraman, VFX and animation designer, director and producer etc. While 80% of the shooting was done at their house, a song was dubbed in a Mumbai studio.

Chinmay Vardhaman, the father of the duo said, “Apart from the financial investment of Rs. 20 Lac, our children gave three precious years to chase their dream. This cannot be calculated in terms of money. They skipped school and passed their examination with the help of home tuition. Our well wishers were skeptical about our children’s future but we had full faith on our kids and their talent.” Even their school Seedling Public School agreed to let them be way for the period of film-making. The twins are now in class 10th.
