Udaipurite awarded by PM Modi

Aniket Choudhary, hailing from Udaipur was awarded on Saturday by PM Modi for winning the Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat contest. Aniket’s suggestions ranked best out of 50,000+ suggestions received from throughout the country.

Anikesh was awarded on the occasion of completion of two years of the MyGov portal. On receiving the award, he said that it was a proud moment for him to receive the award from PM Narendra Modi. Anikesh was a resident of Sector-9. He did his engineering from CTAE, Udaipur followed by PGP from IIM Raipur. He has been working as a Prime Minister Rural Development Fellow (PMRDF) in Jammu & Kashmir for the last two years.

Anikesh provided the following suggestions in the competition that aimed at culturally connecting the states:

  • Introduction of new chapters in text books highlighting cultures of other states and storytelling conducting storytelling competitions about leaders of other states
  • People registering their homes as a centre and taking responsibility of providing care and hospitality on behalf of the state towards people of another chosen state
  • One state offering guided tours on subsidized rates for tourists from the chosen state to ensure increase in tourism and revenue and best habits of one state being replicated by the other.
  • Running long distance trains running between two partner states to have a “Bharat Store” selling handicrafts and traditional items of the state from where the train starts
